4 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Merzouga

4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga offers a condensed but still memorable experience of Morocco’s diverse landscapes, from the vibrant city of Marrakech to the awe-inspiring Sahara Desert. Here’s a general itinerary you might expect for such a tour:

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate.

At 8:30 am, our driver will take you up in Marrakech. The journey will begin in Marrakech, and along the route, we will pass by the High Atlas mountains and the road’s highest point (2260 m). We will have fun while admiring nature’s splendour and taking pictures of the historic Amazigh (Berber) Villages. After that, we’ll go a short distance to Telouat Kasbah, where you may sample the local cuisine. We’ll go to the Ounila Valley in the afternoon, where you can see little, deserted berber settlements in the high mountains where families are still living in dilapidated clay homes. Our next stop will be the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will have the opportunity to see the well-known Kasbah, which was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 due to the fact that several films, including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Sahara with Penélope Cruz, and others, were filmed there. Ouarzazate, commonly known as “The Gate of the Desert,” is the destination for this day’s final visit. We’ll have dinner and spend the night in a motel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate _ Daraa Valley _ Nkoub _ Alnif _ Rissani _ Merzouga.

We’ll get started today after a nutritious breakfast. The Draa Valley is our next stop; en route, you’ll be able to witness one of the country’s greatest rivers and experience the passion and beauty of the amazigh/berber communities. We’ll have plenty of time for a delectable lunch in Nkob or Alnif before travelling for around two hours to Morocco’s most popular tourist destination, the Merzouga dunes (giant sand dunes). When we get in Merzouga, we will switch to camels, which are the area’s most popular natural mode of transportation. We will then go far into the desert, where we will come across camps, which are built of camel and goat wool. After dinner, we will relax in the camp and enjoy the beautiful sky filled with stars and berber music.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert _Rissani Market _Erfoud Fossil’s _ Todra Gorges _Dadés Valley.

We’ll begin this day by rising early to view one of the most breathtaking sunrises you’ve ever seen in the middle of the Sahara Desert and to take in the splendour of the desert landscape. After that, we’ll ride camels back to Merzouga for a hearty meal. The weekly market in Rissani is where we’ll stop next. We’ll depart from Rissani and go to Erfoud to visit the companies that make fossilised marble. Our next destination is Touroug, and from there we’ll head straight for the Tinjdad palm fields. We will arrive in Todra Gorges, one of the nicest locations in the High Atlas, after an hour.

This region is well-known to visitors, especially climbers, because to the river that runs besides the canyon. You’ll have ample time to have lunch, take in the stunning scenery, and, of course, take a little stroll along a river.

Following that, we’ll go to the Dades Valley, also known as the Figs Valley, and stop at the Monkey Legs through Boumalne Dadés.And then after eating dinner, we’ll spend the night at the Dades Gorges.

Day 4: Dadés Valley _ Roses Valley _Palm Groves of Skoura _High Atlas _Marrakech.

We will begin the day as usual with a necessary breakfast and take in the breathtaking views of the Dadès valley from a unique location in the mountains. The “One Thousand Kasbahs Road” is the name of the path that we will take after that as we continue. Along the way, we will see numerous kasbahs that you will find interesting. The Roses Valley and the Skoura palm grove are the next stops, and then we’ll go to Ouarzazate to see the Taourirt Kasbah, which used to be the home of the Glaoui or Marrakech pasha. If time permits, we will also visit the movie studios and the movie museum. You’ll likely be hungry by this point, so we’ll take our time and have a healthy lunch.

In the late afternoon, we’ll be returning to Marrakech while stopping at the mountain port of Tizi Ntichka to admire the scenery and snap photos. We will arrive in Marrakech around 6 o’clock.
