3 day From marrakech to Merzouga

This 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with an 8 a.m. pickup and a scenic drive through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, showcasing the stunning High Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. The first stop is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you’ll explore its kasbahs and enjoy panoramic views. After lunch, you’ll head to Dades Valley, admiring the impressive rock formations and kasbahs before spending the night at a hotel.

On the second day, after breakfast, you’ll travel along the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs to Todra Gorge for a trek among its towering cliffs. Then, you’ll reach the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you can take a camel ride at sunset to a desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and spend the night under the stars.

The final day starts early with a sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at your hotel. You’ll then return to Marrakech, passing through Alnif, Tazarine, and the scenic Draa Valley, with stops for lunch and photos before concluding the tour with a drop-off at your accommodation.

Our Marrakech Camel tours Pick up at 08am from your Riad or any point of your choice, starting our 3 day From marrakech to Merzouga  tour from Marrakech, and crossing the Tizi N Tichka pass of the High Atlas Mountains(2260m) enjoying the mountainous road and the spectacular Berber villages, to reach the Unesco world heritage site “Ait Benhaddou village”, the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movie producers. You will go on a walk with a local guide crossing the river to the other side to discover The Ksar and climb to the top of the hill through the alleys of Ait-Ben-Haddou, which is like rambling through the middle ages for an amazing view on the fertile Ounila river valley, surrounded by desertic landscape, and with the snow-capped Atlas mountains as a background, the view from the top seems to encompass the whole world. After Lunch, we will continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate and Skoura and the long valley of roses (the seasons of roses is in late May). Upon arrival to Boumalne Dades, we will deviate into a secondary road heading up through Dades gorges. From here, we will enjoy beautiful Rock formations (Called the monkey feet) and fortified Kasbahs scenery along the Dades river, with the sunset as a backdrop. After a stop at the canyons for a drink or to admire the majestic scenery, we continue to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.

After a traditional Breakfast, taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley, to get to Tineghir A beautiful valley of 15 km of date palms ending with spectacular Gorges, often used for rock climbing. The road to the Gorge of tough passes green palmeraies and Berber villages, where we go on a trek along the canyons of about 300m high. Afterwards, we will head to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara Desert and you will have time for lunch in Tinjdad or Touroug, depending on your hunger meter. Once you arrive at the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will take a camel ride for 1 hour, while watching the sunset, to get to the camp in the oasis. Spending the night in the bivouac at Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under shooting stars. Play drums with the camp staff and cameleers.

An early wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga one of the best moments of the desert, afterwards you will ride the camels back to the hotel at the foothills of Erg Chebbi dunes where you will have a typical breakfast in the hotel followed by a refreshing shower to dust off the sand. Drive back to Marrakech through Alnif, Tazarine, Draa valley, Agdez, and Ouarzazate. In Ouarzazate, we will have free time for lunch and a photo stop in front of the famous Taourirt Kasbah. Afterwards, we will continue to Marrakech, where your Merzouga desert experience ends. Crossing again the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Drop off at your accommodation.

To fully enjoy the Sahara, we recommend spending at least one full day in Merzouga, especially if you choose the camel trekking and camp experiences.

This tour can also be customized to end in Fes or begin in Fes and finish in Marrakech. A shorter 2-day desert tour is available, but it is not recommended due to the long driving distances.
